Hands on Healthcare
Bellin College, in partnership with local high schools, has created a free, one day experience in our Health Sciences Resource Center (HSRC) called Hands on Healthcare. Students spend the day rotating through stations practicing skills and techniques guided by Bellin College students, faculty and healthcare professionals. This immersive, hands-on experience promotes the advantages and benefits of pursuing a high demand career in healthcare using state-of-the-art technology.
A day on campus begins at 9 a.m. and includes:
- Rotations through eight 25-minute stations
exposing students to:- Radiology
- Physical Therapy
- Sonography
- Radiation Therapy
- Virtual reality career exploration
- Operating Room/sterile technique
- Trauma/Emergency Room simulation
- Dementia Care
- IV insertion technique
- Lunch (provided by Bellin College)
- Wrap-up session with Bellin College staff

Mobile Hands On Healthcare
The future vision of Hands On Healthcare has continued to grow and expand. We mobilized this event to take it on the road to schools in Northeast Wisconsin. This gives us the opportunity to impact more students and customize the experience to fit your needs and schedule. This free mobile experience may include: ultrasound, radiology, basic nursing care, CPR and/or physical therapy/athletic training.
Exposing students to these types of experiences provides them with the opportunity to learn more about well paying, high demand careers. Employment in the healthcare industry is expected to add 2.3 million new jobs nationally over the next 10 years.
Although we would love to accommodate every school that requests a mobile hands-on experience, our staff and schedules are limited and some exceptions may apply.
