New Student Access

On behalf of the IT team, welcome to Bellin College.

Setting up your email

• Your email address is: Please refer to the Welcome Email 
• Your temporary password is: Please refer to the Welcome Email 

Accessing your email

–  You can access your email account from our website, or by clicking here:               https://outlook.com/owa/bellincollege.edu
–  You will be asked to create a new password.

Once your password is set up, you will be able to access your email.

NOTE:

• Please check your email account periodically, as  ALL future email communications will be sent to your Bellin College email address only.
• This username/password will be used to access other Bellin College systems such as MyBC and Canvas.

Accessing email from bellincollege.edu

• From the website homepage, look for the Quick Links dropdown menu at the top of the website.
• Click on Email Login under BC Family heading. Everything IT related that you will need to access, is located under BC Family.

NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours for your account to appear in Canvas and MyBC after you change your password. If after 24 hours you are still unable to log in, please contact  Bellin College IT. 

MyBC Student Portal

You can access your MyBC student portal account from our website, or by clicking here: https://my.bellincollege.edu

From the website, the My BC link will take you to our MyBC portals (Choose Student Portal) to our student information system. Here you will be able to view your class schedule, financial information, final grades, transcripts, and documents you’ve submitted to the college.

Canvas Learning Management System

You can access your Canvas account from our website, or by clicking here: https://bellincollege.instructure.com

The next link you should click under Quick Links is for Canvas, our learning management system. This is the application you’ll use for interacting with your courses. Canvas will have your course syllabi, assignments, weekly modules, in progress grades, discussion groups, etc. For now you’ll be enrolled in general resource courses, so you can view those for more information, or just to get a feel for Canvas. As courses are published by your instructors during Zero Week, the week leading up to initiation of the term, you’ll see them populate on your dashboard and you’ll have access to view and engage with those specific courses. 

Access the Canvas guide produced by our instructional design department to help orient you to Canvas.  We also recommend you view the Canvas for New Students Overview video. Please contact Instructional Design if you would like to schedule an in-depth Canvas training session. 

Microsoft Office 365

The last link I will address under Quick Links will allow you to access Microsoft Office 365, where you can download and install Office. This includes Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and may be installed on up to 5 personal computers (Macs or PCs), and 5 handheld devices. You will have free access to Microsoft Office for the duration of your enrollment at Bellin College.

To access Microsoft Office 365 you need to log in with your full email address as your username, and your usual password.

NOTE: You won’t have access to this until 24 hours after receiving this email and up to an hour after you’ve changed your password (as you were instructed to do above).
