Heidi has been in her current position at Bellin College since 2007.  She has taught in various theory, lab, and clinical courses at the sophomore through senior levels in both the traditional and 15 month programs, with her primary courses being fundamentals of nursing, medical/surgical nursing, and advanced concepts clinical.  She is also Bellin College’s Lead Nurse Planner for continuing nursing education programs.

Heidi has over 23 years of experience in various areas of nursing including medical/surgical nursing, orthopedics, pain management, home health, telehealth, and perioperative nursing. She has also been both a reviewer and writer for Elsevier, Inc. and currently serves on the Wisconsin Nurses Association CEAP Committee.  Heidi is certified by the American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certifications, Inc. as a Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and a certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Medical-Surgical Nursing (RN-BC); and by the American Heart Association as a Basic Life Support instructor. Heidi is a member of the following organizations: National League for Nurses and the Wisconsin League of Nursing; American Nurses Association and Wisconsin Nurses Association; American Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses; and Sigma Theta Tau International and Kappa Pi Chapter-at-Large.  Distinguished awards that have been presented to Heidi include the Loretta A. Wells Nursing Scholarship, September 2005 and 2006; Management Women’s Inc. Scholarship, May 2006; Wisconsin League of Nursing Scholarship, October 2006; and Nishioka Faculty Excellence Award, May 2016.
