  • Recruitment territory: Northern half of Wisconsin, northern Michigan, Twin Cities.
  • Educational background:
    • I graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a degree in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance and a minor in statistics. Throughout my time in college, I discovered that I really wanted to work with young adults and had a passion for higher education, so I went to Marquette University for my master’s in Educational Policy and Leadership with a focus in Student Affairs in Higher Education.
  • If you could go back and major in something else, what would it be and why?
    • My favorite subjects in high school were math and chemistry, so probably one of those!
  • Life before Bellin College
    • I was living in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, with my husband, Josh, and working as an academic adviser in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I loved working at my alma mater, but am originally from Green Bay and wanted to move home.
  • Advice for students applying
    • Explore, explore, explore! Choosing where to go to college and what to major in are big decisions. Start with self-exploration. What are your values, personality traits, skills, interests and how do those relate to careers you are interested in? It’s hard to commit to a major/career path at age 18 if you don’t know yourself well. And remember, that you’ll change over time, and that’s OK! Give yourself grace in the process.
  • Important people/pups in your life
    • My husband, Josh, and have known each other since middle school and got married in 2016. It’s been fun to see how we’ve both changed over the years! In addition to Josh, I am super close with my mom and two sisters and am obsessed with my 3-year old niece! Aunt life is the best life!
  • Favorite part of your job
    • Connecting with high schoolers! I love truly getting to know prospective students, who they are, and what they want out of college and life. I love being able to build relationships and walk alongside people in what can be a stressful time in life.
  • Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
    • It sounds lame, but organization! It would be a dream of mine to have a side-business doing professional organizing. I love helping people clean out closets, basements, etc. and reorganize to make spaces more functional.
  • Favorite place you’ve traveled to. What did you love about it?
    • When I was in college I studied abroad for a semester in Norway and had the opportunity to travel a lot around Europe. Some of my favorites include Prague, Italy, Austria and Ireland. I’m looking forward to traveling with my mom to the UK when she retires in 2021!
